Traditionally, cranio-maxillo-facial surgery has been only applied to those with severe congenital, developmental or post-traumatic deformity. With the increasing demand of facial aesthetics these years, cranio-maxillo-facial surgery can be applied for purely cosmetic reason. Orthognathic surgery can be used not only to correct skeletal malocclusion but also for those to just improve facial aesthetics. Zygomatico-Maxillary Complex (ZMC) is strategically important for facial cosmetic surgery as well. By repositioning of ZMC, facial size and shape can be improved significantly. Frontal bone reduction or augmentation surgeries are performed routinely to solve all kinds of problems such as forehead deficiency, frontal bossing, temporal hollowing, brow ptosis, hairline recession…etc. This lecture will focus on the combination of all kinds of cranio-maxillo-facial surgical techniques to create an ideal foundation for facial aesthetics.
