Thanks to the development of computer-aided design and 3D printing technology (which has become a must-do routine in our daily practice), we are able to perform a precise and safe computer image-guided bone contouring surgery today to avoid many unfavorable risks such as nerve or vessels injury, overcorrection or under-correction, and second mandibular angle deformity (unnatural lower jaw line). In this young lady, we performed computer guided reduction malar-plasty, reduction mandibuloplasty, partial masseter muscle resection and advancement genioplasty. Before and after photos and CT scans were shown here. She is very happy about the result. Aside from the face becomes generally slimmer, the new lower jaw line is smooth and natural. We don’t see the facial drooping (a common unwanted effect after reduction malar-plasty) at all because the cheek bones were placed inward and upwardly lifted with firm fixation.
